Louise Barrett – Level 1 & 2 EQUESTRIAN PILATES® Mat & Apparatus Instructor

Louise has had a passion for riding since she was a young child. She was bought her first pony when she was 8 years old. Louise competed at a local level as a teenager and then went to University to study for a degree in Physiotherapy.

She re-visited her equestrian roots when she bought her eldest daughter a pony at the age of three. Since then she has established an equine family of three ponies and two horses of her own. Nowadays with a busy life of work and three children, Louise just enjoys hacking and hunting. Her children are members of Pony Club and Louise is heavily involved with this as an active member of the committee.

Louise practices Physiotherapy and Pilates from her studio at home in Brentwood, Essex, England. She graduated from University College London with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 1995 and went on to obtain a Post Graduate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy at Manchester Metropolitan University. In 2005 Louise obtained her Matwork Instructor’s Certificate with Body Control Pilates, London.

Louise specializes in the rehabilitation of sports injuries and back problems and puts her success down to combining Pilates exercises with her physiotherapy techniques. Training in EQUESTRIAN PILATES® was a natural progression to enhance her skills and further her knowledge in the Equestrian field as the foundations of this are a knowledge of anatomy and rider biomechanics. Becoming an EQUESTRIAN PILATES® Trainer has enabled Louise to combine her passion for horses with work.
